Emo Shadow
Me and Shawn were playing video games one night and I look over at Shadow, and this is what I see. He had the most emo hair style I had to take a picture. This dog cracks me up.

Owen is 6 months old!
I can't believe that Owen is already 6 months old. It has gone by so fast and has been so much fun. We have been going through a hard time like the rest of the country and he has made me smile on the worst of days. I love him so much and am so lucky that he is mine. Here are a few reasons why ...

He loves his batman.

He is sitting up on his own and is loving it. And look at that smile, it gets me everytime.

Update time
Well, since my last post Owen has gotten cuter, Shawn still has not been paid, Owen got sick for the first time, the Cardinals are going to the SuperBowl, and Owen and Shadow became friends. January has been a crazy month for us but we are hanging in there. Here are a few pictures to update everyone on our little family.
Erica gave Owen this adorable little surfer shirt. So I thought she would like to see how it looks. And it is cute.
Getting ready for a bath.
He loves to cross his legs like this. When we had our ultrasound of him, he was doing this same thing in my tummy. He is just chillin on the couch.
Poor little sick Owen. We all got a bad cold this past week. I am pleased to say we are all doing a lot better.
Even when he is sick he is happy.
This was us watching the inaguration of President Obama. He was very happy if you can't tell.
Shawn scared him super bad, and this was the shot I got.
Owen tried solid food. As you can tell he didn't like it too much. This was the one and only time we tried. I think we will wait just a bit longer to start him fully on solids.
Well, I know every parent goes through this at least once. Shawn was holding Owen and he said "Oh I think he is filling his pants". Little did we know it was running out of them as well. Shawn got up and brought him to his room and there was a little trail of baby poop the whole way. I should have taken a picture of Shawns pants because there was quite a bit on him as well.

The Christmas that was 2008 and the 5 month Owen.
Happy Holidays a bit late from the Birds. We had a great time down in Arizona during Christmas. It went by way to fast and I wish we could go down and visit more often. We love it there. We had tons of fun just hanging out with the family and playing games. It was great to see my friends too. We got to spend the day visiting old friends and I got to show Shawn the house I grew up in. That was quite wierd to walk through that house since I had so many memories there. I am glad that Shawn got to see it though. I loved seeing my other parents too, the Gunnells, Evans, and Hansens. I love them tons so it was great to be able to visit them and have them meet Owen too. Thanks for the fun times everyone and I hope we get to see you again really soon.
Owen with Camber and Joey. He misses you guys.
Owen and Aunt Camber.
Awwww, this picture is too cute. We miss you mom and dad. Love you tons.
He found his thumb. He doesn't really suck on it though. He more or less chews his thumb. We will see if that changes.
This little monkey outfit was one of my favorites of his before he was born. And Grandma Bird gave him these little monkey slippers that went perfectly with it.

Owen is 4 months old today.
Sorry in advance for so many pictures. But I have to put a lot on here for my mom and sisters to see Owen. He is 4 months old today and I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He has been so much fun and I have loved watching him grow. I love him more than I ever thought I could love someone. He makes me so happy when I look at him and especially when he smiles back at me. He is so funny too. He does this angry thing where he clenches his fists and grunts real loud. Me and Shawn just laugh at him when he does this and I think that makes him more angry. But most of the time he is happy and smiling, usually with his whole hand in his mouth covered in slobber. He is one slobbery boy. As you can see below.
Week of the animals
So last weekend, Shawn was outside cleaning up the yard. We have a ton of bushes on the side of our house. He came inside and said, "I don't know if you want to know this, but I found a dead cat in our bushes." Luckily, Owen was asleep so I ran outside to see what I could do. There was no hope for the cat unfortunately. As we were taking car of it, we heard little meows coming from somewhere in the forest of bushes. I jumped in and tracked down where it was coming from and pulled out these two adorable little kittens. Ofcourse it was the day after Thanksgiving so a lot of places were closed. Luckily, the Humane Society was open and I ran them over there so they could take care of them and give them a home. I wish I could have kept them, but we are all allergic to cats. I swear I should have been a vet. Maybe someday I will own an animal shelter or something. I just love animals so much, I don't know what it is. I am just glad that we found these little guys before they became victims of the cold weather too.

Now onto a creature that is not as loveable as kittens. I went out to get the mail today and saw this on my front porch. I have never seen a spider like this in my life. It is huge and such a strange color. This picture does not do it justice. I had to get a pen so you can see the size of this beast. Scccaaaarrrrryyyyy! Too bad it is not Halloween anymore. I mean, black cats and spiders. How much more Halloweeny can you get?
